About me:
My Qualifications
I believe that every professional should be able to provide their clients with proof of their qualifications. After all, if someone isn’t willing to share this, they may have something to hide. I am proud of my qualifications and the expertise I have gained through years of study and hands-on experience. Transparency is important to me, and I am always happy to provide proof of my credentials so you can feel confident that your animal is receiving care from a fully qualified and registered veterinary physiotherapist.
I am a fully qualified and insured Veterinary Physiotherapist with a BSc in Equine Science and a Postgraduate Diploma in Veterinary Physiotherapy. As a proud member of the National Association of Veterinary Physiotherapists (NAVP), I adhere to the highest professional standards, ensuring your animal receives expert, evidence-based care. To maintain my NAVP registration, I complete 50+ hours of Continuing Professional Development (CPD) every two years, staying up to date with the latest research and advanced techniques in animal physiotherapy. This means your horse, dog, or other companion receives the most effective and current treatments to support their mobility, recovery, and overall well-being.
More About Me:
With a BSc in Equine Science and a strong passion for equine nutrition, I have dedicated my career to understanding and improving animal health and performance. My journey in the equine industry has been diverse, from working on a stud yard handling stallions to gaining in-depth knowledge of equine and pet supplements while working for a leading supplement company.
My love for horses began at an early age when my aunt would sit me on her huge showjumpers, sparking a lifelong dedication to the industry. Since then, I have been riding from the age of seven and have gained hands-on experience in backing young horses and bringing on ponies as development projects.
During my time at the stud, I regularly assisted the veterinary physiotherapist and became fascinated by the impact of therapy on equine well-being. This led me to pursue a BSc in Equine Science, where I focused my dissertation on cryotherapy for equine limbs. This research deepened my understanding of rehabilitative products and techniques. Wanting to expand my expertise further, I later completed a PGDip in Veterinary Physiotherapy, allowing me to apply this knowledge in a practical setting to support both horses and dogs in their recovery and performance.
Beyond horses, I also farm sheep and own a dedicated working sheepdog, Jazz. My passion extends to working dogs, recognising their physical demands and the importance of proper maintenance and injury prevention. I am very passionate about bringing this service to them and educating their owners on the importance of maintaining their dogs for their jobs.
Recently I guest lectured at Myerscough College for BSc Equine Science students on rehabilitation, therapy applications, and career pathways. I love to teach and will always provide my clients with information about what I am doing to their animal and why as I believe the better understanding you have the more you can help your animal to.
Whether working with horses or dogs, my goal is to provide effective, evidence-based physiotherapy to keep animals performing at their best.
